Burnt Bridges is an alternative progressive fusion band comprising electrified string quartet, drum kit, and vocals. Original compositions, written by Stephen Filer, are heavily influenced by baroque counterpoint, jazz harmonies and Beatles-y style quirky lyricism. Hip hop drum beats and rock violin solos create a diverse soundscape that Stephen likes to describe as embodying musical “Journeyism”.

Cellist and composer, Stephen Filer has created transportive musical soundscapes by drawing from his years of experience composing and arranging for strings as well as his deep love of baroque counterpoint, experimental progressive rock, and 808 type hip hop beats.

Burnt Bridges performs as a sextet that relies on a rotating cast of talented musicians that include Mairead Alexander (violin), Keith Colón (violin), Asa Zimmerman (viola), Derek Wiegmann (bass), Peter Krutschnitt (percussion), Kimi Harris (viola), Nailah Harris (cello), and Eddy Arellan (percussion).
